Hi Friends,
Each year, I try to make progress on my physical TBR. Sometimes I find it difficult to prioritize the books I own, especially with new releases every month, ARCs, and mood reading. And I totally failed at shrinking my “to be read” pile this year. But, since there’s still a while until the end of next year, here are 10 books I’m hoping to read by the end of 2025!
Years ago, a reclusive mega-bestselling children’s author quit writing under mysterious circumstances. Suddenly he resurfaces with a brand-new book and a one-of-a-kind competition, offering a prize that will change the winner’s life in this absorbing and whimsical novel.
I’ve wanted to read this book for two years, but I just never get around to it. I find the story’s plot to be quite interesting, especially as a fan of magical realism.
From New York Times bestselling author Rachel Gillig comes the next big romantasy sensation, a gothic, mist-cloaked tale of a young prophetess forced on an impossible quest with the one knight whose future is beyond her sight. Perfect for fans of Jennifer L. Armentrout and Leigh Bardugo.
I read Rachel Gillig’s Shepherd King duology and thought it was unique, but it wasn’t my favorite fantasy romance series. I have to admit I didn’t love the writing style. But, I want to try her work again to decide whether I should keep picking up her books.

In the tradition of Legends & Lattes, comes a cozy fantasy steeped in sapphic romance about one of the Queen’s private guards and a powerful mage who want to open a bookshop and live happily ever after…if only the world would let them.
This book has been on many of my monthly TBRs, yet I never feel like reading it. I suspect I’ll love this story since I adore cozy, low-stakes fantasy and sapphic romances.
As The Villain’s assistant faces a magical crisis threatening Rennedawn, Evie must protect his lair and kingdom by learning treason and dagger work. Book 2 in a 3-book series.
I loved Assistant to the Villain, so naturally I want to read the sequel. The only problem is that I worry it won’t be as good as the first book. Nevertheless, I’d still like to make progress on this series soon.
From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of Peter Pan.
Everyone keeps telling me to read this book, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. To be honest, this book really intimidates me. It’s the first book in the Never After series; each book is a different semi-dark romance retelling. But if I don’t read it now, I’ll likely keep putting it off.
The viral TikTok friends-to-lovers dark romantic comedy full of murder, chaos, and sizzling chemistry―unlike anything you’ve read before.
I started this book earlier this year but put it down, because it is a dark romantic comedy, which is a genre I’ve never read. It was a little difficult to get into, but I’ve heard it’s hilarious, and I’d like to give it another shot.
The sensational conclusion to the deathly and decadent Belladonna trilogy, with dramatic twists and a seductive new romance that will set readers’ hearts ablaze—from #1 New York Times bestselling author Adalyn Grace.
Given my love for the Belladonna series, I’ve already read this book. However, I want to reread this book because the author announced online that the audiobook released on release day, which I listened to, wasn’t the final version. The audiobook is now the correct version. I’d like to reread it to ensure I heard the right story.

In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet weekly in the Jigsaw Room to discuss unsolved crimes; together they call themselves the Thursday Murder Club.
My sister, mom, and I all decided to read this book together. But I’m the only one who hasn’t finished it. I want to read it by the end of the year to discuss it with them. I’d also like to watch the Netflix movie adaptation.
A vampire’s perspective on his love story with Bella Swan, exploring the complexities of immortal love and the struggle between heart and danger.
My initial 2025 read was Breaking Dawn, the last book in the original Twilight saga. Thus, I think reading Midnight Sun, which is Twilight told from Edward’s perspective, would be very fitting for one of my last reads of the year.
