Hi Friends,
February is here and it’s officially the month of cozy romantasy, swoon-worthy love stories, and books that give you all the Valentine’s Day vibes you might be looking for. If you are stuck on what to pick up this month, maybe my TBR can help you build the perfect February reading list.
If you have been following my blog for a while (and if not, you should definitely consider signing up for my mailing list because it’s totally free and I’d love for you to join my little bookish corner of the internet) you know that I love picking my TBR in fun and creative ways. For February, I decided to use a Bookish Valentine’s Day Bingo board I found on Pinterest to help me choose my reads for the month!
I used a random number generator to pick six prompts from the bingo board and matched each one with a book. Honestly, I think this lineup embraces Valentine’s Day perfectly, which is exactly what I wanted from this reading list.
💘 Prompt #1: Small Town Romance
📖 Book Pick: Bourbon & Lies by Victoria Wilder
🌸 Why I picked it: This is a book I picked up on a whim because I loved the cover and the plot sounded interesting. However, it does intimidate me since romantic suspense is a genre I haven’t really explored. Hopefully I enjoy it enough to continue with the series.
💗 Vibe check: Romantic suspense, small-town, found family.
💘 Prompt #2: Stars With “F”
📖 Book Pick: Fallen City by Adrienne Young
🌸 Why I picked it: I was lucky enough to receive an ALC of this book, but I didn’t get a chance to read it before it was released. I have read one other book by this author and really enjoyed it, so I am excited to dive into this one. I’ve also been loving YA romantasies lately.
💗 Vibe check: Ancient Rome inspired, forbidden love, slow-burn.
💘 Prompt #3: Buddy Read
📖 Book Pick: The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
🌸 Why I picked it: As someone who doesn’t do buddy reads often, this prompt was pretty easy to fulfill since the only buddy read I am doing is one with my mom and sister. We are reading the first book in The Thursday Murder Club series so we can watch the Netflix original movie.
💗 Vibe check: Cozy mystery, humorous, heartwarming friendships.
💘 Prompt #4: Pink Cover
📖 Book Pick: Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma
🌸 Why I picked it: I have had this book on my shelves for a while now, and I actually haven’t heard many people talk about it, but the plot has always intrigued me. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a good fake-dating story, and the synopsis is very much giving First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison, which I absolutely loved.
💗 Vibe check: Fake dating, enemies to lovers, forced proximity.
💘 Prompt #5: 400+ Pages
📖 Book Pick: The Favorites by Layne Fargo
🌸 Why I picked it: I have been wanting to read this book ever since I heard it compared to Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which I surprisingly enjoyed more than I expected. This story follows a champion figure skating duo and their complicated relationship on and off the ice. The premise really interests me because I’m a figure skating fan and I love books that explore complicated relationships.
💗 Vibe check: Sports romance, literary fiction, toxic drama.
💘 Prompt #6: A Five Star Read
📖 Book Pick: Game On by Seressia Glass
🌸 Why I picked it: The premise of this book sounds like something I’m going to love because, as a reader who married a gamer, the synopsis already has me swooning. Also, it seems like it’s going to be much more than a simple love story, which is awesome.
💗 Vibe check: Gamer girl, forced proximity, workplace romance.
In the comments, tell me one book from your February TBR that you are most excited about. If you want, feel free to share this post with other readers. It would mean so much to me. And if you want to go the extra mile and support my blog, please consider signing up for my mailing list.
Until The Next Chapter,
