Hi Friends,
Romance Bookstore Day happened on Saturday, August 9th! It was a day for celebrating romance books while also supporting indie bookstores! I didn’t buy any books that day, but I think it’s super important to support indie bookstores when possible. Even though Romance Bookstore Day has passed, I’d still like to suggest romance novels many readers might love. Beyond romance books, these are also audiobook suggestions, since I mainly listen to audiobooks.

For fans of Meg Ryan and 90’s romantic comedies, this book is a must-read. This adorable romcom is about a single mom’s quest for love alongside a romance radio host who’s a bit of a love skeptic. Plus, for spice lovers, this book has some great steamy moments.

Stories about writers aren’t usually my thing, but it worked here since both the FMC and MMC are authors. Plus, I thought the whole genre-swapping plot to get them out of their comfort zones was super interesting. However, I have one issue with the story, but I can’t share it because it’s a spoiler. Despite the slight flaw, this is a well-written and entertaining romance with likable characters.

This book is for readers who enjoy the enemies-to-lovers trope, or rather frenemies-to-lovers. This story is about a screenwriter getting his dream job. There’s just one catch – he has to work with his longtime nemesis. This was a cute, funny, and fast book. FYI, this romance is more sweet than spicy, so it’s great if you prefer that.

This is definitely one of my all-time favorite YA romantic comedies. It’s a really fun enemies-to-lovers story about a teen girl who gets her annoying neighbor to help her win over her crush. Trust me, this book is awesome! I cried at the end, so I’m obviously super attached to it.

Though this book has gotten a lot of hate over the years, I really liked it! This was my first experience reading Ali Hazelwood, and I was instantly hooked. And it made me realize how much I adore the grumpy + sunshine trope. The story follows two scientists who agree to fake date each other. The story’s basic and predictable, but sometimes a light, undemanding read with a guaranteed HEA is what you need. It’s an open-door romance, but you can skip the sexy scenes and still follow the story.
