Hi Friends,
Today, I’m talking about my Halloween week TBR! I’m gonna be sharing what I’ll be reading this week to get me in the Halloween spirit. I have so many books I wanna get to, even though I know I probably won’t get to them all. Halloween is a very special day to me, but it’s also going to be a very hard day this year. Reading has always been my comfort, though, and there are some books I’ve definitely been saving to read until this time of the year.
Hungerstone by Kat Dunn
This is a retelling of Carmilla that leans more toward Gothic horror. The book promises a feminist, psychological reimagining of the classic story. I haven’t heard a lot of people talking about this book, but when I heard it was a Gothic horror story with vampires and a sapphic romance, I knew I had to pick it up.
If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia
I’ve been slowly working my way through this book, but unfortunately, I’m just not drawn to contemporary romances right now. Still, this book takes place around Halloween, so I need to finish it before October ends. It’s not that I don’t like the book. It’s just that reading about two characters falling in love has been making me feel a little on the depressed side lately.
Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson
I didn’t know this until recently, but this mystery thriller actually takes place on Halloween! I’m not sure if the entire book takes place in October, but I did hear that part of the story unfolds on Halloween. Obviously, that makes this a great Halloween read! Plus, I’ve really wanted to pick this one up ever since it’s Holly Jackson’s first adult novel. I believe I’ve read every book she’s published except this one, so I’m excited to finally get to it!

Three books seem like a pretty manageable amount for me to read in a week. I’ve been reading a lot more slowly this year, but I’m completely fine with that. Still, I’m definitely going to make reading all three of these books a priority this week. Otherwise, I’m the type of mood reader who won’t pick them up until next October, and that just seems way too long to wait to read some of these amazing books!
In the comments, let me know if you’ve read any of these books or if they’re on your TBR! Don’t forget to like this post, and feel free to share it with the readers in your life. Before you go, sign up for my mailing list! It’s free and helps my little blog grow.
Until The Next Chapter.
